What Vehicles are Impacted?
  • SUV’s over a 7 year period from 2007-2014.
  • The recall covers the following GM Chevrolet models: Avalanche, Silverado, Suburban and Tahoe, and GMC models Sierra and Yukon.
  • General Motors is committed to ensuring your affected is repaired for free.
Why is this important to you?
  • Takata has advised the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that without a chemical drying agent, prolonged exposure to heat and humidity can degrade the chemical propellant used in the airbag inflators.
  • In time, if the propellant degrades to a certain level, the inflator may rupture when the airbag deploys during a crash event. If this happens, sharp metal fragments could pass through the airbag
